Of all the religions and gods on this Earth, Jesus is the only living God.
There is power in the blood shed by Jesus when He died on the cross. During the days of the Passover, the blood of the lamb (a type and shadow of Christ), was painted over the doorway of the homes so the destroyer could not enter into their homes. The same is still true today. When we pray, “God, cover us in the blood of Jesus” we are assured of God’s protection over our lives.
The Word of God is Jesus in written form. John Chapter 1 says... “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God and the Word was God.” Please pay close attention to the fact that the word “Word” in the bible is capitalized. Jesus is the Word. Therefore, when you read the Word (i.e. the Bible) you are actually having an intimate personal conversation with Jesus. The chapters in the Bible are actually His love letters to you. God knows us better than our employers do.
Our jobs are not the source of our income; our God is the source of our income. Yes, even in this economy. Tithing 10% of your paycheck is your way of saying to God, “I trust you to provide for me exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think” (See Ephesians 3:20). God receives your tithe as an expression of your love and worship towards Him. God also promises to rebuke the devourer for your sakes (See Malachi 3:11). Know this, that God can and will do more with your 90%, than you will ever do with your 100%.
When you are depressed or overwhelmed, the same resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead will also raise you above your circumstances (See Ezekiel 37:3-5).
We read about the many stories in the bible where God made promises to His people, and all those promises came to pass. It started with Abraham in the Book of Genesis. We know that we can believe God’s promises for us today because it says in Numbers 23:19: “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?”
