- 1 Cor. 16:14
Hope is one of the most important words you will find in the bible. Without it, there can be no faith because you need hope to reach for the things God has promised you. Even though you cannot physically touch it or see it yet, you can still reach for it. It is that act of reaching for it,which shows God you do have faith. Hebrews 1:1 says:
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
There will be days when we want to toss hope right out the window. Proverbs 13:12 says that “Hope deferred makes the heart sick.” You know those days where you want to stay in bed and pull the covers over your eyes because your heart is sick. But fight that urge to do so. If we do not let go of hope, the rest of Proverbs 13:12 tells us, “when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.”
In spite of all the things that happened to Job, he stood strong and fought to keep his hope; yes, he wrestled with the thought of giving up hope, but he didn’t, and of course, you know at the end of Job’s testings, he received double for his trouble. So, do not let the devil talk you out of giving up your hope.

Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the LORD.
Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; For I shall yet praise Him, The help of my countenance and my God.
You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in Your word.
Happy is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, Whose hope is in the LORD his God.
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, And whose hope is the LORD.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.
Therefore my heart rejoiced, and my tongue was glad; Moreover my flesh also will rest in hope.
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
